Sylvamo, Nymölla mill is looking for a Safety Coordinator!

Sylvamo Nymölla mill is located twenty kilometers east of Kristianstad in Bromölla municipality. The mill produces pulp using the magnefite method and uncoated fine paper. Multicopy is our most well-known product. The production capacity is 340,000 tons of pulp and 475,000 tons of fine paper.

About the position

As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a central role in creating and maintaining a safe working environment for everyone at the mill. By working both strategically and operationally, you contribute to minimizing risks, improving the safety culture, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company guidelines. The role requires you to be a person who dares to challenge, question, and set demands that align with our safety work.

Main responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze risks and implement measures to reduce accidents and incidents.
  • Drive and develop safety culture through training, initiatives, and communication.
  • Lead and participate in safety-related projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure that the operations comply with occupational health and safety requirements and internal safety standards.
  • Update and implement safety procedures and risk assessments.
  • Participate in workplace safety rounds, inspections, and internal audits.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and be responsible for reporting and analysis.
  • Analyze trends in incident reporting and propose improvements.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement lessons learned from incidents.
  • Conduct safety training for employees and contractors.
  • Act as a contact person and support for safety issues.
  • Communicate and follow up on goals related to safety.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has the ability to structure and organize their work. You have analytical skills and are solution-oriented. You are proactive and can work independently. You show commitment and feel confident in driving the work for a good safety culture in a larger organization. To succeed in the role, you need to have good communication skills.

Your knowledge and experience

  • You have relevant education as an Occupational Health Engineer or other education/work experience that can be considered equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and safety standards is a requirement.
  • Experience in safety work and reporting tools (e.g., risk assessments, incident and accident investigations, and safety audits) within industry, preferably process or paper industry.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience working in IA systems is an advantage.
  • Valid B driver's license

Other The position is full-time and working hours are during the day. Appointment will be made by agreement. We apply a probationary period.
